Technical Theatre

This course explores types of theatre spaces from proscenium to found. Scenery is designed and constructed with both artistic and pragmatic functions in mind. We begin with the thumbnail sketch and continue the process to the completed design in the theatre environment. The objectives of lighting and sound, visibility and mood, and how each effects the play being produced are examined. Design assignments, initiative, and quality of work are requisites for successful completion.
Lab Requirement: Designing and constructing for main-stage productions.
