French I Honors
Grade 9
Prerequisite: Successful Completion of French I
This course introduces the student to the French language via the study of basic vocabulary and structure patterns. The emphasis is on developing skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in the target language. Speaking skills are introduced through individual and group work, repetition drills, chain conversations and modification exercises. Grammatical structures are introduced and integrated in basic sentence writing. Culture and geography of France are also highlighted. Students take part in pairing and group work to present real-life scenarios to the class in French. Honors French covers more material and more work is required from students than in a regular French I class.
