Application Procedure
To all Prospective Freshmen Applicants:
IMPORTANT – Due by January 7!
If you are interested in applying for financial assistance for the 2013-2014 school year please complete the FACTS grant and aid assessment on the front page of our website. You may use your 2011 financial information and update the information on your account once you have completed your 2012 tax returns.
After you meet the financial aid application deadlines, if you qualify for aid, you will be notified of your aid package with your acceptance letter. If you have questions about freshman financial aid, contact Ms. Need, Admissions Director at 789-9262, Ext 515.
For your convenience you can now apply on-line for admission to The Prout School! Click here to set up your on-line account to apply for admission, to register for the entrance exam, to request transcripts and recommendations or schedule a school visit! Be sure to click the submit button after you complete your application to ensure receipt by The Prout School.
Arrange to spend the day with a Prout student. Click Shadow a Crusader for the Day to register for a visit on-line. You do not have to apply to Prout before arranging for a visit. We are limited to 6 visitors a day; so please make you appointment as soon as possible. Crusader Shadows will begin on October 1, 2012. For details on what a shadow day entails, click here.
Register on-line for the entrance exam. The exam will be offered on Saturday, December 1 or Saturday, December 8, 2012. Both exams will begin at 8:30 am (doors open at 8 am). There are a limited number of seats available for the exam, so register early. The completed exam registration and application are due prior to the student taking the entrance exam. Provide an email address for recommendations from your school. Click here to provide an email for your school's contact. Recommendations must be submitted to Prout directly by the teacher/ guidance counselor to ensure confidentiality. Teacher recommendations are due by December 17, 2012.
Release records from the school the student is currently attending. The Prout School admissions office will submit your records release form to your current school. Your transcript should come from the guidance office. Transcripts are due to Prout School by December 17. Click here to submit the form to allow Prout to request your records through your on-line account.
You can check the status of your forms and your application using your on-line account. Decision letters will be mailed on January 25, 2013.
Please note the above deadlines. Any applicant that does not have a completed application on file by December 17, 2012 will be late and possibly waitlisted. After December 17, applications will be processed on a "rolling admissions" basis, meaning qualified students will be waitlisted until a spot is vacated in a class.
