IB Biology
Grade 11, 12-1 credit
Prerequisites: Chemistry, Anatomy/Physiology
This class is a first-year course of the two-year IB Higher Level Biology curriculum. It employs the teaching and learning techniques of the experimental sciences. This course studies living organisms at the molecular and cellular levels. Biochemistry, energy relationships, the origin of life, prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells are some of the major topics presented and investigated. Upon completing this course the students will understand that the living world portrays a fundamental unity with regard to its chemical composition and cellular structure.
