Concert/Stage Band
Grades 9-12
Perequisites: None
The concert/stage band performs at various events named in the Music Overview, also allowing for solo opportunities at various other school and community events. Students should have music reading skills and be of an intermediate level on their instrument to take this class. Guitars are not allowed in this class. In addition to ensemble rehearsal during class time, students are strongly encouraged to take private lessons either with the school music teacher or a private instructor to learn individual parts. Participation and preparedness is an important part of the course grade, as is participation in all performances. Ensemble pieces are selected from a wide variety of musical styles and does not concentrate on any particular genre.
