Music Theory
Grades 9-12

This class will cover the basics of music theory beginning with the elements of music: harmony, rhythm, melody and form. Students will learn theory fundamentals such as key signatures, time signatures, modes, scales, transposition, chord construction, voice leading, harmonic analysis, sight- reading and composition. Students in the class will also learn to use the computer program Finale to write and arrange music.
