Mr. Castelli came to Prout in 1997 after teaching for 30 years at Cranston High School West, the last seven of those years he spent as Foreign Language department head. Mr. Castelli is a member of the RI Foreign Language Association and the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening and reading.

Mr. Felice teaches Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian. He came to Prout after a career at West Warwick Senior High School, where he was foreign language department chairperson. He is a member of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, The RI Foreign Language Association, RI Association of Teachers of Italian, the American Association of Teachers of French and The Association for Supervision & Curriculum Development. He enjoys travel, gardening, hiking, and learning new languages.
Jennifer Trevisiol - Italian

Mrs. Trevisiol comes to us from the University of Rhode Island where she taught Italian for four years. Prior to teaching at the University of Rhode Island, Mrs. Trevisiol lived in Italy for eleven years where she worked as an interpreter and translator for the Officine Meccaniche Rino Berardi S.p.A. in Brescia. Mrs. Trevisiol is a member of the Rhode Island Foreign Language Association and is pursuing a Master’s of Education at URI. She is also a member of Rhode Island Teachers of Italian and the American Association of Teachers of Italian.
Joanne Welsh - French
BA, Secondary Education w/ Concentration in French, University of Rhode Island
Joanne Welsh has studied abroad at the L’Alliance Francaise in Paris, France and attended a summer program at the Colegio de Espana in Salamanca, Spain. Her teaching career began at North Kingstown High School as a French teacher in 1980. In 1982, Joanne left teaching to pursue a career as a stockbroker. While a successful broker, she used her skills as a teacher to train others to become brokers as well. In 1989 Joanne left the professional world to become a mother of three children, Caitlyn, Kellie and Jackson. She rejoined the teaching profession in 2002, teaching French and Spanish at Grafton Middle School in Grafton, Massachusetts. After spending a year at the Narragansett Pier School and at Prout, Joanne joins the staff of The Prout School full time for the 2006-07 school year to teach foreign language.

Ms. Dougal has been teaching Spanish at URI for the past five years. In her spare time she enjoys fishing, reading about the ocean, and travel.
Saúl Disla - Spanish
B.A. Secondary/Middle School Education and Spanish Lit.
Saul Disla is a graduate from the University of Rhode Island with a BA in Secondary/Middle School Education and Spanish literature. He is currently working in his Master in Spanish Literature at the University of Rhode Island. During his undergraduate studies Mr. Disla was the president of the Spanish Honor Society “Sigma Delta Pi” at URI. He is a member of RIFLA, the Rhode Island Foreign Language Association During his first year of graduate studies he taught beginning and intermediate Spanish at URI. Mr. Disla has completed the ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview training in Spanish. Mr. Disla has studied abroad twice in Salamanca, Spain in 2004 and 2007, where he took classes with world recognize professors. In his free time he enjoys playing baseball, traveling and learning new things.
Marlena D. Giordano, Language

Marlena Giordano graduated from Salve Regina University and will receive her teaching degree from Providence College. She has studied abroad in Rome, Italy and attended a summer program in Yucatan, Mexico. Her teaching career began in Rome, Italy as a private English teacher to Italian students. In 2006 Marlena began teaching at an international boarding school. Her extensive personal travel and the ability to speak Italian and Spanish have afforded her with the unique talent of being able to develop a multicultural approach to learning, which supports the school’s mission of providing global awareness and development. Personal development is constant in her life. Her inquisitive spirit for learning and desire for growth habitually renders itself to constant reevaluation and a desire for self improvement. She is currently a graduate student at Providence College.
