Service, Charity, Justice, Peace
“Silence begets prayer, prayer begets faith, faith begets love, and love begets service on behalf of the poor.” -Mother Teresa of Calcutta
At Prout, students are encouraged to live out their faith by giving to others. Each student is required to complete Christian Service Hours wherein they give 20 hours of their time in meaningful service for others. Campus Ministry maintains contact with local charitable organizations that need high school volunteers. Students are encouraged to try something challenging because we grow most when we give of ourselves to others. In addition, Campus Ministry plans a fundraiser, drive, or collection to help people in need. We offer opportunities for students to grow in awareness of pressing social issues that our faith calls us to respond to. We hope students will volunteer locally, but also, in doing so, learn about the needs of our global community and human family.
“Whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40
“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace…” St. Francis of Assisi
