Liturgical & Spiritual Life Council

| The Prout School values the formation of the whole person: mind, body and soul. An integral part of one's spiritual development is the fostering of prayer and worship which overflows into service. Saint Paul advised all believers to offer the sacrifice of "living worship" to God (Romans 12:1). The Liturgical and Spiritual Life Council (LSLC) is comprised of students and faculty who advise the campus ministry team on the development of the liturgical and spiritual dimensions of our school community. As a Catholic School, the Celebration of the Eucharist remains the heart and center of our communal prayer. Members of the LSLC offer guidance and assistance with the planning and coordinating of school liturgies. The LSLC seeks to expose students to the rich liturgical life of the Catholic Church, especially the rhythm of its liturgical year as expressed in various seasons (Advent, Lent, Ordinary Time, etc.). Additionally, the LSLC seeks creative ways to foster the spiritual development of Prout students through communal prayer experiences which attempt to bridge the gaps between worship, identity, and service. Overall, the LSLC strives to create an atmosphere of living worship at The Prout School where all students are encouraged to engage the Living God "in spirit and in truth" (John 4:23). Please see the campus minister, Mrs. McPheeters, or the campus chaplain, Fr. Upton, for more information about becoming a member of the Liturgical and Spiritual Life Council. |
