What is your favorite thing about the Prout community and the students here?
I have been at The Prout School for the past nine years. During this time I have really enjoyed the student’s willingness and drive to learn. In addition to this, it is also nice to be able to talk about religion. God exists in life and when talking about biology you can’t help but wonder how life could be so complex without there being a God.

Science
"Anybody who has been seriously engaged in scientific work of any kind realizes that over the entrance to the temple of science are written the words: ëYe must have faith. It is a quality which the scientist cannot dispense with."
Max Planck
The Science Department seeks to develop students that are scientifically literate and personally concerned about the major scientific issues in our world. We seek to provide our students with experiences that will develop their knowledge, skills, and values. Our science program encourages students to become personally and globally responsible individuals and to promote the Christian ideal that we are all stewards of the earth. To meet our goals and objectives, the Science Department courses are designed to meet the needs of all students. Through their study of such topics as cell theory, genetics, stoichiometry, mechanics, electromagnetics, wave theory, environmental and oceanographic studies, our students learn how to apply the scientific method and develop their problem solving and critical thinking skills. Extensive laboratory and field work supplement the course of study.
