The Visual and Performing Arts Department encompasses theatre, music, dance and the visual arts.

Prout boasts one of the leading high school arts programs in the state. The department strives for its students to explore and develop their creative talents in the classroom and on stage, as well as with community outreach programs. We aspire to train young performers and visual artists by preparing them to enter competitive college and conservatory arts programs.

Through their study, students are encouraged to take risks, understand studio discipline and learn to work independently and cooperatively. The department presents many events each academic year. These include plays, musicals, workshops, art exhibits, and dance and music concerts.
